water wisdom: the healer + teacher that unifies us all

THE PULSE: Boo! It’s Eclipse Season

There is so much to discuss, we don't know where to start!

We started Scorpio season on Sunday, which is all about death + rebirth -- we're talking about deep transformation. It's also a water sign, which is serendipitous because this week's podcast episode -- is all about looking at water with a whole new perspective. The timing is so aligned!

And we kick off Scorpio season with today's solar eclipse and new moon. We have several eclipses coming up -- which all signify change that can happen quickly. Get your mindset prepared. How solid is your foundation? If things seem to happen out of left field, how can you stay grounded with your reaction? (Read more in our Downloads below.)

Use the powerful energy of today to set intentions. According to Michael Lennox, an eclipse is the breaking of the relentless beam of light that turns a regular lunation into a radical transformative event. This is a South Node eclipse, which means we focus on moving away from the past. What can you leave behind?

We also have to mention Halloween. When you look at the spiritual significance of Halloween "it gets its roots from the pagan festival of Samhain, which falls on October 31st, when the veil between the world of the living and the world of the dead is believed to be the thinnest. Samhain is all about celebrating the cycle of death and rebirth." Sooo, hellooo Scorpio. It's so full circle!!

And that leads us to introduce our latest podcast episode with Dr. Wendy Pabich which is all about the healing power and wisdom of water. Keep reading!

THE PODCAST: Water Wisdom: The Healer + Teacher That Unifies Us All

This week's podcast conversation might give you a new perspective on two resources you may be taking for granted: Water and the Wilds. It certainly made us think differently!

Dr. Wendy Pabich is a scientist, environmentalist and water expert who also wrote the book, “Taking on Water: How One Water Expert Challenged Her Inner Hypocrite Reduced Her Water Footprint and Found Nirvana.” (Now that’s a book title!)

Through her studies and experiences, Wendy knows that water and the wild have the capacity to teach, ground and heal us. They also help us reestablish connection to ourselves, the planet, and to each other.

We can't wait for you to have your own Aha! Water Moment!

Here are some highlights.

Robyn + Karen: Let's start by talking about how you look at water, because most people listening may never have thought of water as having wisdom. What does “water wisdom” mean?

Wendy: For me, it's about engaging all five senses. For instance, I grew up on the ocean in New England. On a foggy, cool New England Day you can feel one face of the ocean. There are so many faces, but each one has its own nuance, So waking up on a day that it's cool and still, and you can feel the water in the air. You can smell it. You can taste the ocean, You hear the sounds. It fully engages all of your senses. And when you tune in, that's where you really open yourself up to the wisdom of water, its messages and the workings of nature.

Robyn + Karen: Wow, that’s a great way to look at how water can be an amplifier of all of our senses. What can water teach us about living our fullest life?

Wendy: Water literally is the lifeblood of our planet and it integrates all. And when you observe that, you start to understand that we are of the water, our bodies are 70% water, our hearts and minds are more like 80% water. And we too hold all these amazing capacities, We can at once be fierce or fluid. We can be angry and strident, or we can be compassionate and open. There's all these fluid characteristics.

There's this really beautiful quote from National Geographic that says “all of the water that will ever be is right here.” And when you think about that, we at our core right now are all that we will ever be. We have all the knowledge, all the capacities, and so any amount of exterior accolades or validation, none of these things are actually going to bring you solace and deep wisdom because that's all already inside of you.

Robyn + Karen: So if we all look at the fact that we are 80ish percent water. How much do we really have in common as human beings?

Wendy: Water is a unifier not only on a planetary scale, but on a humanitarian scale. All beings on this planet are connected and in fact, we're all connected to the planet. We are all dust and we are all stars. All the chemicals in your body come from the food and the water you ingest. Which comes from animals and the plants which derive their nutrients from the soils and the earth. All of our origins are connected, which in turn means all of our current lives are connected too.

SECRET POWER: Infusing the Power of Water Into Your Life

Our conversation with Wendy dove into the fascinating aspects of how water plays a vital role in our lives and the life of our planet. Here’s how you can “tap” into your own water wisdom through your own daily practice.

  1. Water in Nature: Water in nature provides healing benefits. According to Wendy “It allows you to down-regulate your nervous system and to retune your biorhythms to those of the planet.” So get outside, breathe in some fresh air and if you can’t plant yourself in front of a lake or an ocean, try sitting outside on a rainy day. The smell, sound and feel of the water will invigorate you!

  2. Water as a Spiritual Practice: Wendy explained that water offers us the chance to experience the “harmonic resonance” or “natural frequency” of the earth. It is a way of tuning in to “listen” for the quiet energy that surrounds us to help ground us. Listen as you meditate and invite this powerful force into your own energy to help rebalance your own frequency.

  3. Water as an Integrator: Wendy reminds us that we are all 80% water and connected to each other. Use this understanding as you interact with the people within your circle, as well people you don’t know or understand. Water reminds us that we are all one.

  4. Water as Ritual: Virtually every religion has water rituals, and there are many ways you can integrate water into your spiritual practice. It can even be creating a sacred soak in your own bathtub or doing water cycle meditations, where you are envisioning yourself connecting to the great hydrologic cycle of the earth. Inviting water to be part of your spiritual gratitude practice can be a powerful reminder of our connection to both our bodies, mind and spirit.

  5. Water for Intuition + Flow: Water is also the element of our second chakra. Wendy notes, “It's the seed of our intuition and divine feminine energy, creativity and fluidity.” Invite the power of water into your daily meditation to help inspire ideas and wishes, as well as open up the channels of your intuition for inspiration and connection to your spirit guides. Water, after all, is the universal channel for flow. It amplifies, connects, integrates, nourishes, purifies, generates, transports, and unifies. We hope this helps you amplify the water force in your life!

THE DOWNLOAD: Welcome Change + Flow

Sometimes, even WE can’t get over how much we need to “drink in” the wisdom of these Downloads!! And as we contemplate the “water wisdom” from this week, as well as the impact of the “thinning of the veil” as we get close to Halloween, we remember the power of love and acceptance in our lives. Like water, the flow IS the process and what ultimately guides us. Welcome change. Let us plant new seeds this week, and water them with the intention of abundance!

Move with love. We are experiencing a shift in how we love ourselves and others. How will you show up differently? What is one thing you can do to show yourself love every day?

You are not alone. Picture yourself holding hands with every soul on this planet. There is a thread that runs through all of us. We are more alike than we are different. How will we get better as humans at acknowledging this? What will it take?

One thing you can do this week to start showing more humanity to others is catch yourself at least once a day when you’re about to gossip, or say something unkind about someone — or judge someone...and don't do it. It seems so simple, but that practice adds up — it brings more peaceful and positive energy to the planet.

There will be change this week. It will feel like a shift — like a huge gust of wind that comes sweeping in. Change is good. Do not fear change. It is there for you to grow. Welcome it in. Put your arm around it. Don’t fight it. Embrace it. What is it there to show you? Where can you go from here? It is normal to feel resistant at first. It’s unfamiliar. It’s uncomfortable. But shed the resistance. It’s like those first few days of cold weather after the summer. It’s uncomfortable at first and then you start to notice the leaves changing and the beauty of that and you realize there is something to learn here. It is the same with this change.

Plant new seeds. Start to water them. Feel the sun on a cooler day. Illuminate yourself

We are all connected and your light will help to shine light on someone else. You are held with love.

Listen closely for the quiet flow of life.

You are in it

It is the energy that is within you.

Like a gentle pulse

It filters through you

And through the earthly arteries of the planet

It is the life force

Connecting us all.

It is wise, and life-giving

Generous and enriching.

It is always of the More

There is never lack

Only abundance and protection

The flow is peace

It is clarity

It is ease

It is fulfillment.

It is setting intention

Knowing that manifestation is on its way

It is trusting in inner guidance

And the power of the higher energy

To be our strength.

It is not in the doing

It is in the being

It is in the remembering

Of your soul purpose.

Listen now, while the veil is thin

Ask now, while our spirits are near

Know now, that all is in flow

Part of the divine

Part of the earth

Spiritual co-creators in universal wisdom

Ready to embrace the change.
